I love cooking breakfast on the weekends. I love the wonderful aroma’s that linger throughout the house, bacon frying, onions sauteing, butter simmering, freshly grated cinnamon for the french toast and of course the sweet aroma of chocolate and pancakes.
French toast and chocolate chip pancakes and waffles have always been huge favourites in our home. I am such a huge chocolate lover and I can’t believe it has taken me this long to make Chocolate French Toast.
It takes me right back to my childhood. I can remember coming home from school and walking up the driveway and all you could smell was the amazing aroma of bread baking in the oven. I couldn’t wait to get in the house and slice a huge piece (had to be the end piece) and slather it with Nutella®. This is the same flavour profile with a twist.
I love the puffy caramelized crust of the french toast and the oozing melted chocolate. This is truly a decadent dessert, oops, extra special breakfast! One I will save for special occasions and for when I have guests for the weekend.
It just so happens I have a house full of family coming in for the weekend. It’s definitely going to be on the breakfast menu, no one will be able to resist!

This looks so delicious. I don’t think I would be able to eat the rest of the day after having this for breakfast…but it would be fun trying.
